Journalist who builds with AI
20 years in the media · own language model, EUGEN 160M
Profile
I build AI-based tools and applications, from concept and architecture to the way the results are checked. I do not write code by hand: I define the tasks, run teams of AI agents and answer for the quality of the outcome, which I confirm with tests and measurements.
I am training my own language model for code, EUGEN 160M, from scratch, and I handle every stage: data preparation, architecture, a custom compute kernel (for sparse model variants), training stabilisation and evaluation. The model runs behind a public API that completes code and translates it from Python to C++ and Rust, verifying the result. I deploy my applications on Google Cloud.
Twenty years in the media taught me the rule that matters most when working with AI: an unverified result is not a result.
Experience
since 2026
Co-founderOrsonAI
- I design and develop AI tools for journalists: an editor with an assistant for research, verification, interview transcription and document analysis, and Orson Rec, an app that transcribes interviews as they are recorded.
App developerViaSanto
- A prayer app: an interactive rosary, novenas and a community praying for shared intentions. I lead it end to end, from concept and user interviews to release on the App Store and Google Play.

- Reports and documentary pieces for current-affairs programmes, from research to editing.
Projects
- EUGEN 160M: my own language model for code, trained from scratch.
- OrsonAI: an editor for newsrooms with an AI assistant, on Google Cloud (Gemini, RAG).
- This site's AI agent: answers questions about my work; it has a public API and its own gateway to the models.
- Open-source tools: HDK, a Triton kernel, TetherGate.
How I work with AI
I design the tasks and run teams of AI agents in three stages: research, execution checked by two independent controllers, and verification. A test or a measurement decides whether the work is done, not the model's own claim.
